IQNA – The Ramadan program of the Women’s Dar-ul-Quran affiliated with the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine has been well received by participants from various age groups both inside and outside Iraq.

A Quranic program for women in Iraq

Dalal Al-Tabatabai, head of the Women’s Dar-ul-Quran, said this year’s Ramadan program, which includes daily Quran recitation circles, is distinguished by a significant expansion in the number of Khatm Quran (reading the Quran from beginning to the end) sessions, Al-Kafeel reported.

These recitations are not limited to the holy city of Najaf, but have been expanded to various provinces of Iraq as well as several countries around the world, under the direct supervision of the Women’s Quranic Education Unit, she said.

She explained that the daily Khatm Quran sessions are divided into several categories: the central Khatm Quran at 1 p.m., the general evening Khatm Quran for female visitors, the Khatm Quran for young girls, the special Khatm Quran for female servants of the holy shrine, and online Khatm Quran sessions to enable remote participation.

Al-Tabatabai noted that among the most prominent international locations where Khatm Quran sessions for women are held are Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, where the center’s distinguished students perform Quran recitation, showcasing the proud presence of Iraqi women Quran memorizers on the global stage.

She added that the center continues to offer specialized courses during the holy month of Ramadan in the fields of: electronic memorization, Quranic sciences, rules of recitation, and Quranic miracles.

It has also launched a series of Ramadan competitions, including a competition for memorizing and interpreting Surah Al-Bayyinah; and another competition on interpreting Surah Al-Kahf, she stated.

Ramadan is the ninth and most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, in which Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, refraining from eating, drinking, and smoking.

They also devote more time to prayer, charity and good deeds, seeking to strengthen their faith and purify their souls.
